Pokemon Journeys: The Series is the 23rd season of the Pokemon anime series and the 1st season of Pokemon Journeys: The Series, known in Japan as Pocket Monsters. The season premiered from November 17, 2019 to December 4, 2020 on TV Tokyo.
This season follows the adventures of Ash Ketchum and new protagonist Goh as they travel across all eight regions of the Pokemon franchise, including the new Galar region from Pokemon Sword and Shield. As a result, the finale part from the games makes an earlier appearance, rather than taking a few seasons, thus truly breaking free of the typecast the show was in until the Sun and Moon arc. Supporting characters include Professor Cerise, a Pokémon researcher who oversees Ash and Goh's missions, and his daughter Chloe, Goh's childhood friend.
The Galar region is the setting of the 8th generation of Pokemon games, which is where the games Pokemon Sword and Shield take place. This region is primarily inspired by Great Britain.
It has a total of 48 episodes and its sequel continues on the 24th season named Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series. Pokemon Journey introduced us to Galar Region also Gigantamax pokemon. It is another temporary evolutionary form of Pokemons.
Short summary-
Its story follows as Ash heads to the Cerise Laboratory with his Mom and Professor Oak. Upon arrival, Ash encounters a Yamper who he tries to befriend but gets electrocuted by it instead. Ash then attends at the open ceremony, where he learns that the Legendary Pokemon Lugia was spotted at Vermilion city and attempts to battle Lugia. When arriving at the scene, Ash meets up with a local boy named Goh. As the two rides on Lugia. they are able to become friends after getting to know one another. After returning to the Cerise Laboratory, Ash and Goh are exhausted when Chloe, Goh's childhood friend, and Cerise's daughter, shows up and notices how tired they look. Ash and Goh then show Professor Cerise the Ash and Goh's first assessment is to information on Lugia that they collected and become assistants of the Cerise Laboratory, which they both accepted. investigate the Ivysaur all over Vermilion City. Like this, they meet each other and their journey began from this very 1st mission.
Ash and Goh's next assessment was to investigate the special phenomenon in the Galar region. Upon arriving in Galar, Ash and Goh encounter wild Scorbunny who steal the former's backpack. After getting his backpack back, Ash and Goh then head to the train station on route to the Wild Area, to continue their investigation. When Ash and Goh arrive at the Wild Area, they encounter a sleeping Snorlax and meet up with Scorbunny again. When the Snorlax gets Gigantamax, Ash saw the Gigantamax Pokemon first time with his own eyes. Continue on Ash, Pikachu, Goh and Scorbunny try to move the Snorlax where it is blocking the railroad for the incoming train. After successfully dealing with Snorlax, Ash witnesses his friend Goh when he catches his very first Pokémon, Scorbunny. And like this, they introduce us the Gigantamax pokemon.
As they move on they explore more Pokemons and their Gigantamax form. Also with some friends and foes, it is amazing to see how they explore the Galar region.
